Beans require light and even watering. Due to the leaves tendency to become afflicted with disease if made wet, you must water close to the soil. And remove any unhealthy leaves immediately to prevent spreading of the disease. At 3 to 5 inches long the beans are ready for harvesting; this will usually be around fifty to seventy days. Be sure to not leave any beans on the plant because this can slow the plants production.
