This popular Basil variety has the largest leaves of any of the Basil varieties. Plants grow from 2 to 4" long. Compared to Genovese Basil, the scent and taste is more sweet, spicy and mild. The flavors have many kitchen uses.

 Basil is not drought tolerant and can be damaged by heat stress. Regular moisture throughout the growing season helps to ensure a good crop. Very easy to grow in virtually any location. Does best in light, well-drained soil. Keep soil moist, watering freely in dry weather. A full harvest should be completed just before the plants start to flower. Cut the entire plant 4-6" above the ground to promote a second growth. Leaves are easily bruised when picking, so handle carefully. Do not store at a temperature less than 50°F (10°C).
